THERMTEC THERMAL CLIP-ON HUNT 635 LRF
The ThermTec HUNT 635 LRF thermal clip-on (manufacturer name Hunt 635L) is a thermal imaging attachment with a built-in laser rangefinder that mounts in front of your day scope, without changing the scope or its reticle. It has a 640×512 sensor with < 15 mK NETD, a 35 mm F1.0 objective lens, a rangefinder up to 1000 m and a ballistic calculator.
Features
- 640×512 sensor at 12 µm, < 15 mK NETD and 50 Hz: detailed images even with little thermal contrast, with ThermTec AI Calibration reducing shutter interruptions.
- 35 mm F1.0 objective lens: 12.5° × 10° field of view (21.9 × 17.6 m at 100 m) and detection up to 1800 m according to the manufacturer.
- Laser rangefinder up to 1000 m and ballistic calculator: measures the distance to the target from the clip-on itself, without taking your eye off the scope.
- E-Zoom up to 4x: magnifies the central reticle area as picture-in-picture, useful with low-magnification scopes to identify the target better.
- Zero and RAV in one shot: AI-assisted zeroing and recoil-activated video (RAV) are set with a single shot; there is also pre-zeroing and an electronic level that warns when the rifle is canted.
- 0.39-inch AMOLED display, 1920×1080: compatible with scopes up to 16x; observation mode shows the full thermal image even at high scope magnification.
- Mounts in front of the scope: M52 × 0.75 thread for an adapter chosen by the outer diameter of the scope objective, such as SmartClip adapters (sold separately). The adapter is not in the box.
- Two replaceable batteries: up to 5 hours each at 25 °C, and the device can also charge them via USB-C.
- Built for the field: magnesium alloy body, recoil resistance up to 6000 J, IP67, 64 GB of memory, Wi-Fi with the ThermTec Outdoor app and a wireless remote control.
Why choose this model?
The HUNT 635 LRF pairs the laser rangefinder with the 35 mm lens, giving the wider field of the two LRF models (12.5° × 10°, 21.9 × 17.6 m at 100 m). It suits stand hunting at short and medium distances, where you need to find the animal fast and know how far it is before the shot. For more reach, the HUNT 650 LRF has a 50 mm lens and detection up to 2600 m.

Frequently asked questions
Does the HUNT 635 LRF come with a scope adapter?
No. ThermTec specifies an M52 × 0.75 standard thread; choose an adapter with that thread (for example SmartClip) by the outer diameter of the scope objective.
How far does the rangefinder measure?
Up to 1000 m according to ThermTec. The reading feeds the built-in ballistic calculator.
What is E-Zoom?
A digital magnification up to 4x of the aiming area, shown as picture-in-picture in the centre of the screen. It helps with low-magnification scopes and is switched on with one press of the "−" key.
Can it be used as a monocular?
Yes. Select the eyepiece type (monocular or clip-on) in the menu; monocular mode needs the ThermTec Hunt Eyepiece.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 5 hours per battery at 25 °C according to the manufacturer, and two are included. The rangefinder, Wi-Fi and recording reduce battery life.
What is the difference from the HUNT 650 LRF?
The HUNT 650 LRF uses a 50 mm lens with detection up to 2600 m. Everything else (640×512 sensor, 1000 m rangefinder, display and functions) is the same.
